Version Control

A friend of mine just introduced me to Beanstalk. This is a free on-line CVS repository (for code versioning). It seems easy enough to use, I set up one of my tutorial projects on there. In the free version you can even have 2 more people login to your repository so you can collaborate on the project. Great!

The beginning

I thought I would write a blog about developing an Android App, or at least trying to develop one. I have seen a couple of other guys do this (e.g. androidblogger) but the one that inspired me was Robert Green.

Let me set out my aims for the app development now and hopefully looking back at this will motivate me to continue when I am suffering from coding blues or bad coding dreams:
  • Develop something fun!
  • Learn how to do it properly
  • Re-ignite my interest in development
  • Create something worth publishing on the Market
  • Get a few downloads
By the way, my other aim is to write some useful things on this blog if you are starting out in app development too!
